Safely Home

I just want to take a few minutes to let you know that I arrived safely in Manila yesterday. It's good to be home. The time with our 6 alumni in Bangladesh was very precious. I also got to spend time with 6 more of our IGSL alumni during my two days in Bangkok, but of course those were just quick visits. My body has arrived here in Manila, but my brain has not. I have never felt so brain-dead after a trip . . . not sure why. Pray that my body, mind and spirit can be re-united soon.

12 Wonderful Days in Bangladesh

I am sitting in the Singapore airport, writing you from a combination laundromat/internet shop.

Gerri and I have had twelve wonderful days in Bangladesh with our dear IGSL alumni. We have been cared for so well by them. We learned a lot, gave a lot, laughed a lot, and ate a lot. I also took 800 photos. Don't worry, I am not going to post all of them.

In two hours I will fly to Bangkok, where I will spend two more days with alumni before flying home to Manila.

I will tell you more about our trip when I get home. Meanwhile, please continue to pray for my travels.

Ready to Fly

Here is the promised sari photo. From left to right are Gerri (who will travel with me), myself, Romela from Pakistan and Kalpana from Nepal (our fashion consultants). Gerri and I survived the whole day wearing our saris, and learned some tricks to keep them in place. We appreciated all the encouragement from our students, who were very pleased with what we were wearing.

Thank you for praying for our visas! They were approved, and released yesterday (Thursday), which is a good thing, because the Bangladesh Embassy is closed on Fridays (since it's a Muslim country), and Philippine offices are closed Saturdays and Sundays. So we are feeling relieved to have them in our hands already.

We will fly on Tuesday morning. Don't stop praying!
